The Ottoman TV Lift

July was a busy and rewarding month for Definition Automation. We completed a variety of TV lift and projector lift installations across South Africa and internationally. Our projects included work for corporate offices, luxury homes, and hotels, as well as providing ongoing service and support for existing clients.

Dubai Office Innovation – TV Lifts

This month, we manufactured a practical lifting solution for a business firm in Dubai. The project included four flap-out scroll TV lifts designed to raise and lower 75″ touch monitors. This setup makes presentations and discussions more interactive by positioning the screens at the ideal height. As a result, it became the first system of its kind to be installed in a commercial office in Dubai.

Cape Town Corporate Lounge – TV Lifts

In a premium hotel’s corporate lounge in Cape Town, we fitted two 75″ ceiling flap-out TV lifts. When not in use, the TVs are completely concealed within the ceiling, maintaining the room’s clean and stylish design. At the press of a button, they lower into position for meetings and events, providing a functional display.

Retractable Splashback Lifts

We completed two retractable splashback lifts in kitchen islands for clients in Paarl and Llandudno. These lifts rise while cooking to prevent oil and grease splashes from reaching surrounding surfaces. When not in use, they retract into the countertop, leaving the island clean, open, and clutter-free. This design offers a practical and minimal solution for modern kitchens.

Foot of the Bed TV Lifts

Two Cape Town clients chose our Foot of the Bed TV lifts this month. These units allow comfortable TV viewing in bed while keeping the view clear when the TV is hidden. The fitted design means they blend naturally with the bedroom décor.

Home Theatre Upgrade – Projector Lift

For a home theatre installation, we fitted a projector lift that allows the client to lower or hide the projector at the push of a button. This means the living room can switch to cinema mode in seconds, without compromising on style when the projector is not in use.

Telescopic Projector Lift – Durban Hotel Group

For a hotel group in Durban, we designed and installed a telescopic projector lift — the first of its kind. This model is ideal for spaces with very high ceilings, as it scrolls down several metres to position the projector at a practical height for functions and corporate events. The result is optimal viewing without compromising the venue’s design.

Paarl Luxury Residence – TV Lifts

In Paarl, we installed a ceiling vertical scroll TV lift and a flap-out scroll TV lift. These standard models were chosen for their reliability and smooth operation. Mounting the TVs on the wall was not an option because the room features full-height glass windows with stunning views. The lifts scroll down from the ceiling when needed, providing perfect viewing positions, and retract completely when not in use — keeping those views unobstructed.

Aftercare and Technical Support

We take pride in delivering high-quality TV lifts and projector lifts, but we also understand that mechanical systems need regular care. This month, we attended two service call-outs. These visits show that our products are not only built to last but are also fully serviceable, with our technical support available whenever clients need it.

We have some exciting new projects lined up for August. If you’re interested in our products or have a custom design idea in mind, get in touch — we’d be happy to discuss how we can bring your vision to life. For more of what we do, visit our Instagram page where we post regular updates.
